Dear Miss Loy,

Dear Miss Loy,
I rather enjoyed reading your sentiments on feminism and equality. I agree that women should be allowed to do just as much work as the man. There are so many things that I wish I could do to help others, but I have no means to do so. I tried to get educated by my poor dear husband, Mr. Casaubon, to no avail. He thought I was childish for wanting to further my education. Even my dear sister Celia and Uncle Arthur think me foolish. There is so much I wish to do, but as I am a mere woman I am not allowed to partake in my deepest wishes. I do have to disagree with you, Miss Loy, on one account. I do not wish to sacrifice my life as a married woman. I believe the woman should honor her husband and listen to his wishes and abide by them. If I ever disagree with him, I shall make my opinion heard, but I will do what I can to make my husband happy. I cherish my marriage, happy or not, and shall respect him to no end. It was a pleasure reading your poems and manifesto.
