Dr. Fielding's Course

Dear Dorothea on Loy

·

My dear, I do feel you and Miss Mina Loy have similar qualities! You both have the mindset of us women being able to do as much as we can, with no limitations. And you, dear Dorothea, are very much independent and accomplished. Well, at least before your marriage to Mr. Casaubon, and after he passed away, God rest his soul! Some of what you did through your work of reconstructing the cottages, and helping dear Lydgate in his financial hardships, resemble independence to reach out of the typical role us women are portrayed to have. But, of course, to a certain extent. I do believe us woman deserve such independence as well as Miss Mina Loy and yourself, since we already do so much that men sometimes choose to ignore and isn’t appreciated. A bunch of pish posh it is at times if you ask me! This Mina Loy really knew how to speak her mind, a similar trait to myself if I do say, and I respect the lady for that. It’s about time us women really stand up for one another, unite, and declare ourselves equal.
