Peculiar was this reading… peculiar indeed. I don’t often find myself picking up works such as these. It reminded me of almost a Shelley type, you know, it included the gothic theme used by his wife but revolved on something as ordinary as… two woman living in a farm? And without a man at all,… View More

Perhaps Mrs. Dalloway is actually flying off the wall. Maybe she is in her head too much and that could be a problem. If she is trying to convince herself she is fine, she is definitely not fine. Life is all about taking in the little moments, which she does well, but I think she… View More

It’s hard for me to compliment your talent, Mariner, when you have killed me without a care in a world. But I must say this work is amazing and I too agree with your respect for nature. It seems that you have, in fact, learned your lesson and have paid for your sins. God’s creation… View More

Who is flawless here? This city alone is far from flawless, let alone Mrs. Dalloway. I don’t understand why she would buy flowers herself. I don’t understand why anyone would buy flowers at all when we can go look at them in nature. People are selling nature for a profit? I still don’t know what… View More

While I do believe that I think I understand what you are talking about, I must say, Congratulations Mr. Mariner, this is very well written and each one leave me in awe. You are quite talented. George Eliot

I do believe that this story is more than about something just ‘ordinary’ Mr. Holmes. Yes Clarissa Dalloway, may be ordinary the story is far from it along with many other secondary characters. There are entirely too many details to be ordinary, between Septimus, Rezia, and my God even Sally Seton. George Eliot

Peter Walsh seems quite obsessed with this Mrs. Dalloway, much like dear Sir Chettam was, well is with Dorothea. Quite interesting don’t you think, I feel as if Virginia has read my Middlemarch. While yes Peter doesn’t stew in it as much as Chettam, he is quite stuck on how ‘he doesn’t love her;’ when… View More

I just love that Mrs. Dalloway is the way that she is. I would hope that I would be considered to be like her. She is simply a genius for starting the novel out by saying she would buy the flowers for herself. However, I do wonder if Peter is my Mary’s Fred? She seems… View More

You say he is haunted by the past Of me you could say the same. My penance was paid yet I persist Spreading the tale of my name. You Nature, I must respect For you are all God’s creation. Though to me you have been so cruel Much to my pain and vexation. … View More

Well, I must say that this Virgina Woolf lady is very different. This Mrs. Dalloway story is…well, I’m not quite sure what to make of it. I feel as though, Mrs. Dalloway is this woman that continues to let life…lead the way for her so-to-speak. In this second part, I must admit, I had to… View More
