Oh my, oh my! Those characters from The Fox were quite troubled! The relationship between that March and Banford was quite odd. No two women should have to live and fend for themselves! And the way March dresses?! It’s a wonder how she was ever able to attract any kind of man with her attitude… View More

I really do respect Septimus, he is so dedicated to his work. He has knowledge he needs to share, he has this information that the world needs to know and I can respect that. This reminds me of my work, “Key to All Mythologies”. We are both searching for a universal thought, while they are… View More

Mrs. Dalloway is a charming lady. I very much enjoy the idea that she can make her own world where ever she is. A gentleman described her as worldly, and I think that is so appropriate for a lady. She should only have to fuss over her dinner parties. I would love to meet the lovely Mrs…. View More

This new rendition of poetry is not to my liking at all. In Middlemarch we did not read these ghastly poems about war and death. The poems and literature we would read during my schooling at the finishing school were artistic and optimistic. Beyond that, I have never understood the purpose of war? Why can… View More

Mr. Brooke I agree with your feelings about the fox and I hate to admit this, but I’m jealous of the fox. The animal was so mysterious in a way that March was completely taken away by the fox? And for what reason? He didn’t do anything special. He wasn’t even a part of nature… View More

I must say, I do appreciate the nod Ms. Woolf gives to the historical aspect of London including it’s readers such as Keats for example. I do believe this shows us, the readers, the aspect of how much of the Britain history has an influence to writers such as the writers like Ms. Woolf. It… View More

You make very good points Albatross. I shalt not disagree. I do believe she is materialistic! Perhaps she does not feel as though this is all she wants anymore, but she is afraid to step outside of this…comfort that she has given herself?

Dear Chettam, I agree with your words on Mrs. Dalloway. She seems to understand a great deal of things, you know. Many of the characters seem to be introspective in that way, or at least, the audience gets to be since the narration flows through their consciousness’s. I do agree that with this introspective, you… View More

Good Heavens- I shall try and make this analysis comprehensible. Where to begin? And what to say? I feel as if Mrs. Dalloway is speaking on heavy themes here, if one is to look beyond the ordinary. What to make of all mumbling and tumbling around within the syntax. A woman writer, say? That’s interesting,… View More
