This new rendition of poetry is not to my liking at all. In Middlemarch we did not read these ghastly poems about war and death. The poems and literature we would read during my schooling at the finishing school were artistic and optimistic. Beyond that, I have never understood the purpose of war? Why can we not get along? Destruction and death are not appealing in any way. Furthermore, I have absolutely no idea what this Mina Loy woman is thinking. Why would you want to rock a system that has worked out so well in the past? It is the natural way of things. Myself and many women WANT to be taken care of by our husbands. That is the reason we married; to have a man that will care and provide for us. I don’t want to be the provider for the family or not have a family to begin with. I have read Mina Loy’s Feminist Manifesto and believe it to be an unartistic, untruthful, whiny piece of work. Take me back to my younger years where there was less trouble in the world and there wasn’t war.
