Introspective Dalloway

·

Dear Chettam, I agree with your words on Mrs. Dalloway.
She seems to understand a great deal of things, you know. Many of the characters seem to be introspective in that way, or at least, the audience gets to be since the narration flows through their consciousness’s.
I do agree that with this introspective, you know, comes the power of control. You mentioned how she stopped what could have been the worst mistake of her life. There is power in that, you know. She is left only to wonder what could have happened, but not live through it.
The thing you said on Mrs. Dalloway’s being stuck in the past… That might be so, but I do not know if it is entirely childish. Mrs. Dalloway experiences her life while simultaneously reliving through her past but what of Septimus? His character suffers from shell shock– is it childish for him to suffer from that? What distinguishes the difference? They are not so different, in my opinion.
