It is true that Septimus has suffered greatly from the war. He does not deserve such a negative response after completing his duty to his country but alas all soldiers have to lose a piece of themselves to become truly great men. The loss of ones ability to hold reality in their mind is a certain kind of pain that is a slow downfall. If I do say so myself it is one of the more creative forms of pain and suffering I can inflict on someone. Many others have fallen due to its pure effectiveness. A piece of me, a very small piece though it may be, feels a touch of regret knowing Septimus ultimate end.
