Mystery of Mina Loy

·

Sir James Chettam, I would like to say that I agree with you on your thoughts on Mina Loy.  There are many women out there that we may not be able to understand, and she might be one of them.  But even though difficult to understand, I believe we can figure pieces of her out.  I believe that you are right in your suspicions; I think that she makes it very well obvious that her experience with men is not all good.  She clearly was not lucky enough to find such a man who would treat her in the way a lady should be treated.  If she were to have found a good man, say… one like my husband, do you think that she would have written such a bitter piece tearing down men?  I do not believe that she would have.  No woman could have had a good experience with loving a man and continue to express the belief that men and women are enemies.  Even if she were to find a good man, I doubt she would have been happy in the restrictions of marriage, as she might call them, for she tears down the roles of women that we know so well.
