Mrs. Dalloway
·
I must say that prefer Mrs. Dalloway in comparison to many of the other writings of this dreadful time period. Mrs. Dalloway shows that the lady of the house is supposed to dress nice and throw parties, and buy flowers. She understood that she may have regrets with her marriage, but she stuck to her decision which is what a woman is supposed to do. No one is perfectly happy with their marriage. I know with my marriage with Lydate, many times I reflected that I made a mistake, but I never tried to back out of this commitment. This is what I loved about this novel, it still showed the characteristics a real wife is supposed to have. I do have to say though, that I was strongly distraught with how the book ended. I did not like not knowing what happened at the end of the night when Peter finally found Clarissa.
