Rosamond, I am sorry to break this to you dear, but throwing parties and entertaining guests is not the duty of a wife.  Yes, she is a very lovely woman, I must agree, but clearly not the perfect wife.  She thought of another man the entirety of the day… and her poor husband does not even feel comfortable enough with her to tell her that he loves her.  They did not even stay in the same room.  Now, I don’t believe her wifely duties were fulfilled if her relationship with her husband is of this sort.  Husband and wife relationships should not revolve around parties or things.  Marriages should revolve around love, remember this, Rosamond and your husband Lydgate will always be happy.
