I see why you would question such a move as a true solution to the problem. The truth is that men and women aren’t perfect. While I’ve seen the men who serve under me make mistakes and exhibit their flaws, I’ve heard many a sailor’s story of mistakes made by the opposite sex. In my opinion, Mrs. Dalloway would only truly be happy if she acknowledged that we’re all human, regardless of gender, and that turning to one over the other doesn’t change that. Acceptance of this fact allows one to look for the qualities in another which stir the heart and soul, thus kindling the fires of true love.
