Dr. Fielding's Course

Oh Dorothea…I am not sure I agree entirely.

It was a rather interesting novel. I enjoyed the novel dearly, though I suppose it took my a little while longer to read it than you. I have a good sense of why Clarissa was with Richard, she seemed comfortable with him at her “side.” I know that my husband does as he wishes and we could not be happier. Having a significant other that does not like and follow everything you do is nice. That means that the time you spend together is sweeter. I feel for poor Peter. It is sad to say that Sir James felt the way Peter did, but about you. It is hard for me to acknowledge this, but it is for good reason that I point it out. I am happy that you and Will are happy, but still. I think that may be why you were rooting for Peter more than Richard. You know what it is like to cause someone such pain.

Septimus was such a sad thing to read about. It was hard to see him kill himself, but it was easy to understand why. Though I still feel that if he would have known his physician better then he would have probably gotten better. It is everyone’s own responsibility to make their life what they want. Septimus was not strong enough to get through his issues. I still feel for him though.

Woolf is an excellent writer and this is one of many of her novels that I have read. I plan to continue reading her work until there is no more to read.
