Such Chilling Readings…

I must agree with you my dear Celia on the reading “Disabled”…it was rather disheartening, how could women call themselves nurses and not care for the fellow human being? This man was a soldier, and this is how he is treated? It is not professional at all if you were to ask me! These men have fought a great war, they have sacrificed themselves for their countries and some have not come back, the ones who have come back are not the same mentally I can only assume and then there are the ones like the fellow man in “Disabled” who are ignored and shunned like you so eloquently put it due to their disfigurement. Where are the doctors that care for these men? How can a woman, not show her grace and poise and not care for the man that has sacrificed so much? I must say, these women in the poems remind me of my unfortunate wife Rosamond. She would not care much either if I were to be in this dire position! She does not even care that I am a medical man, one can only see what my dear Rosamond would be like if I were to be a soldier who was also disabled like so many have been discussed within these poems!
