Sir Chettam,
·
I shall forgive you for your remark about my marriages as I feel I have had no bumps in the road. With that being said, I am humbled that you think Miss March and I share similarities. I do see qualities of myself in her character. Women should be able to help around the homestead in roles that a man would normally tackle. I don’t wish to be idle when there are ways that I could help out. I also don’t wish my husband to take on such strenuous tasks himself. It worries me so. My dear sister Celia may be happy sitting aside while the men take care of everything, but I feel that this would not do for me. I have grand ideas of ways I would try to better society outside of my home, although I may not have the means to pursue them. I shall make my opinions heard in hopes that I may sway someone to action in those matters with which I would need assistance.
