I like this Sigfried Sasson fellow for many reasons. But the main reason why was, because he told it how it is! He knew what the war was really about and had no problem telling the public what he truly believed! What they did not want to hear! Oh yes I really do like a fellow who sticks to who he is and his beliefs! Sometimes I enjoy telling people what they don’t want to hear. Such a peculiar thing, someone asks for help, but then what denies the truth? Exactly what happened to Sasson. Authority officials telling him he is speaking his words because of what? Shell Shock! HA! Maybe it was a real dose of reality like the war (Lights his cigarette). In Glory of Women I love his sense of hypocrisy he has towards the women that wait at home for their “heros” to come home. All these women do is romanticize about the war. However, they do not know what war really is! Such a dark brutal thing war is, and they are at home thinking that they are heros. I do agree with my good friend John Watson on this matter. These men are supposed to come home and feel like “heros” in the eyes of their loved ones, but in reality they are disgraced and have the most awful memories. They where the veil to mask their emotions and the ones who don’t like my good friend Sasson? Gets put into a hospital for shell shock saying he doesn’t know what he is talking about! That’s a crime itself! These women ought to stop making these shells, they are participating in the disgrace, the bullets they make are killing innocent men as well! Sasson speaks the truth! The men are fighting war while the women knit the socks dreaming of butterflies. I guess we need to keep it like this though. Like I said they can’t handle the truth. For if they knew the truth we would have to start taking care of them. They would become so sad that they wouldn’t be able to do anything around the house! They would probably stop knitting, cleaning, and cooking! It would be shame to get home from war to a dirty house and a wife who can’t cook! That’s the difference though. That is why I will never rely on a woman for anything and take care of myself!
