My dear Fred, I am glad to hear that you do not agree with what is happening in these poems. Those poor men. To think that their families are imagining heroism in the best of form, and to be really experiencing death and disease. I just could not even think about what is going on in their minds. It’s no wonder why these men are coming home suffering with shell shock. It isn’t right for them to have to suffer like they do. Fred, I just don’t think you can blame God for this. God did not make these men suffer. Unfortunately, it was man who created this destruction. I still think that we should believe in him and that he will protect us. Oh Fred, I just could not even imagine you in a place like this. It is just horrible to hear, but it is even worse to think that it is all true.
