Mary, I am proud, as your mother, that you have grown up to be such an intelligent young woman, with a mind and opinion of your own.  Yet, I would advise you not to go to war with your husband over any small disagreement that you have with him.  I have learned that it is best to respect what he says even if you disagree.  But also remember this, Mary, do not be afraid to voice your opinion, although I know that you are not.  You are very much like your mother.  The best way to be sure that your husband will make the right decisions is to choose a husband who is wise and caring.  If he is both of these things, he will think of your wellbeing over his own and lead you in the right direction.  I also believe that if your husband respects you, he will surely respect your opinion.  And it is clear that Fred Vincy loves and respects you, Mary.  Continue to strive for knowledge, but do not let someone like Mina Loy influence your opinions.  Listening to a woman like that will only drive you from a loving marriage with your husband.
