Hello Mr. Trumbull.  Pleasure to make your acquaintance.  I too am from Middlemarch.  I was very intrigued at Mr. Marlow’s navigation on a steamer ship.  Oh how I wish I could learn from him all of his knowledge from his travels.  I am sure he is very wise indeed and maybe he could teach me on subjects where I am naive.  I was astonished at the conditions he encountered of the local people.  The poverty they were accustomed to live in and the lack of food.  I wish there was a way I could build shelters for these poor people or provide some form of sustenance to sustain them.  I shall make my voice heard to try to influence someone who may be able to help them where I cannot.
