That Leopold Blum is one disgusting character. And the writer had to be just as crazy as his character. To write about someone enjoying the taste of urine is truly repulsive. I did not like the style of writing in Ulysses either. It was all over the place and hard to keep track of. I definitely prefer literature that is written elegantly instead of crudely. Then there is how the chapter of Calypso ends. There are some things that should simply not be written about and what goes on in the outhouse should be one. There were so many awful spots in this piece of literature that it was impossible for me to acknowledge the good parts. I could only imagine what the girls at Mrs. Lemon’s finishing school would have to say about this writing!
