Feminists and Soldiers

·

The texts that I read this past week were odd to say the least.  The world these people must have inhabited seems much different than one that I am accustom to. In my judgment from reading the feminist works and those of the soldiers we gain a sense that mankind is troubled. What I found most interesting was Mina Loy’s “Feminist Manifesto.” Her conception of the status of Men vs. Women is something that I found noteworthy. I cannot disagree with her as she speaks only truth while providing clear illustrations. Yet, I assume that my wife may be less open to this discussion. We both were raised with the firm belief that Man and Women are not equal. She may find very minor faults in this system but ultimately she will confide to the standards.

Personally, I believe we must accept the changes that occur in life. Often times, I find that we have little control over the course of events. Yet, the works of Loy battle more than fate they tackle the public’s perceptions or outlooks. The voice of woman has certainly gained strength since my youth. Loy embodies the new feminist and lit the flames that will surly explode as a sunspot as this conflict persists.

Why woman have been subjected for many years is a question for the elites and politicians. I myself, have been influenced to some degree by both of these parties I speak of. What I will say is that regulations and order are set in place to control the population and strategically play to the advantage of only those in charge. The issue I see is that those who will be affected by the laws have no say at all. The best example is the fact that women cannot vote for any public officials.

In the works of the soldiers Owens and Sasson. The situations that they themselves were place in seems to have had an impact on their perceptions. The stories that these to create are certainly questionable. We seem to find some hidden message in all of their works. Regardless of their subjects, readers are given a real sense of what it was like to be on the front of the War. I truly pity these men and feel as those their efforts have gone uncompensated. Even though this burden should have been avoided so that these men did not have to suffer so much.
