Uncle’s advice
·
By Jove, dear niece! I did not realize you had taken this reading under your wing. I must say, child, I am impressed… Impressed, indeed!
This is a complicated reading for you to be exploring, and from your response I can make out that you have been approaching the text with critical analyzations. Bravo Dorothea. I must say I am proud, indeed.
It would not be wrong, perhaps, to talk of the readings as we go on. I could give you insight, of course, and I’m sure your young mind will provide intriguing, fresh interpretations. (Best not tell Celia, dear. We do not want her feeling left out, you know…)
I do have one favor though. I know you will not take this the wrong way, my dear, because you are much too bright- but I say this because as your Uncle I care and feel I have a duty too. There is a maiden in the story… Some Sally here or other… Do not pay too close attention to her, dear. Her character is not the sort I like. Some wrongdoer of the story, no doubt. Let us best not pay attention to her.
Look forward to hearing from you, dear Dorothea.
Good day
