My dear young Fred surely you are no less a patriot than I. These young men surely understand the call of the homeland. That she cries out for us to defend her and to do our duty as Englishmen. We could do no less than these brave souls. The idea of losing life and limb can be a horrifying one. I understand the idea completely and have witnessed it many a time myself. However, there is not just this world to strive for. There are the worlds that reside all around us. Both the ones next to us here in life and the ones waiting for us after. Even venturing forth to find these worlds may seem to be a dangerous proposition however, we must never shy away from the challenge and adventure. Who knows when the opportunity might come along again, if it ever does. Yes, the ways of God are strange, but it is up to us to seek out those strange circumstances and find a way to make use of them. The unknown is never something to be feared, only explored and experienced through new eyes and an open mind. So buck up young man your time is calling.
